She Kills Monsters
Synopsis: She Kills Monsters tells the story of Agnes Evans as she leaves her childhood home in Ohio following the death of her teenage sister, Tilly. When Agnes finds Tilly’s Dungeons & Dragons notebook, however, she finds herself catapulted into a journey of discovery and action-packed adventure in the imaginary world that was her sister’s refuge. In this high-octane dramatic comedy laden with homicidal fairies, nasty ogres, and 90s pop culture, acclaimed playwright Qui Nguyen offers a heart-pounding homage to the geek and warrior within us all. Please note: This play is rated PG-13: Mild language, Fantasy Violence, Implied Sexual Harassment, Discussions of Death & Grief.

6 female-presenting and 4 male-presenting roles are available. Additionally, there are 5 non-speaking roles available for actors playing monsters.
Please note: This play contains strong language and adult themes such as violence, sexual content, bullying, and death.
Agnes: (female) Presents as mid-twenties, uptight, grieving the death of her family, unsettled. She's a high school teacher.
Tilly: (female) Presents as older teen. Dead sister of Agnes. Tilly is a master at Dungeons & Dragons and is well known in the gaming world. She is fearless, strong and sure of herself when in the game.
Chuck: (male) Presents as mid-twenties to 30. Works in a gaming store. He’s goofy, uses lots of misunderstood innuendo. Supposedly a larger-bodied person.
Miles: (male) Presents as mid-twenties to 30. Agnes’ boyfriend of many years. Seems to care about Agnes but is slow to commit to her. Kind of a boring guy.
Kaliope/Kelly: (female) Presents as teen to mid twenties. Hot girl. Plays a supermodel-like elf.
Lilith/Lilly: (female) Presents as a teen to mid-twenties. Dresses somewhat provocatively. Hot girl, but more demonic.
Vera/Evil Gabbi/The Beholder: (female) Presents as mid-twenties to thirty. Guidance counselor at school but is very blunt. Also doubles as Evil Gabbi, a cheerleader with bat type wings and black eyes. She ends the show as single eye-balled monster. Dry comedy. She uses profanity.
Narrator/Evil Tina/The Faerie: (female) Presents as mid-twenties to thirty. Narrates throughout the show. Doubles as Evil Tina, a cheerleader with bat type wings and black eyes. Also plays a Faerie-but a very fit and agile one capable of doing Capoeira-style movements. She uses a homophobic slur. Comedic role.
Steve: (male) Presents as teen to mid-twenties. He is a total D&D game geek and makes short appearances throughout the show. Comedic role.
Orcus/Ronnie: (male) Presents at teen to thirty. He is the Overlord of the Underworld. Comedic role during the game. Doubles as a normal/game geek teen.
